Vicente Filisola

Filisola was born in Revello Italy in 1789. He moved to Spain probably with his family. He joined the army at fifteen. He was in the army his whole life. He became a second leading military force in Mexico. lieutenant because he was so dedicated. In 1811 he was captain of Artillery. In 1814 he became captain of grenadiers.
He was friends with Austin de Tidied. He made him a general and was sent to Central America to take it over. It was a success. He had to leave after taking power.
In 1833, he was named Commander of the Estrada Providence Interim. Filisola was accused of being a coward of the Mexican troops. He was about to go to jail but the General got him out of it.
He published a book to give his side of the story. The book was called Mexican Sides of the Texas Revolution. Filisola died in 1851 during a Cholera epidemic. He was 61 years old.
